Biography:
Brighter Later consists of Shane Kinniell on guitar/vocals, Kevin Blagg on guitar, Jeremy Bonham on bass/vocals, and Damon Singleton on drums/sampling.
The band originally started in 2003 with Damon, Shane, and Bryan Brown of The Paper Hearts on bass. Eventually Beverly Blann, formerly of the shoegaze band Tyko, joined to fill out the sound with guitar, keyboard, and vocals. This lineup lasted almost a year, then in early 2004 Bev moved to Kansas City. Kevin Blagg, who was the creative force behind Tyko, then joined on guitar. A few months later Bryan left the band and Jeremy Bonham was brought in on bass to form what would be the core lineup of Brighter Later.
In the summer of 2004 preliminary recordings took place at the Listen Lab with Dwight Chalmers. Over the course of the next year and half over 25 songs were recorded with 10 making the unreleased version of "Onward & Upward".
In the fall of 2006 Kevin Blagg left Brighter Later and it became a three-piece. In March of 2007 Shane, Jeremy, and Damon recorded a 4 song EP at Blue Chair Studios with Darian Stribling. This EP was released on iTunes later that summer. On August 4, 2007 Brighter Later played its final show in Fayetteville, AR with the original lineup of Shane, Kevin, Jeremy, and Damon.
Currently Jeremy Bonham plays bass with the Fayetteville band Benjamin del Shreve. Damon plays drums in Benjamin's brother's band Randall Shreve. He and Damon also have a side project called "We are Kilroy", which is a drum and bass rock project.
Shane Kinniell lives in Dallas and is not currently playing music with anyone.
Kevin Blagg lives in Little Rock and continues to write and record music in his home studio.
